2026 With Renewed Energy

Wishing that all members of the Prolacto community had an excellent 2025 and enter 2026 with renewed energy and enthusiasm, I would like to share a brief review of the year now ending and an outlook on what awaits us in the year that is just beginning.

For us, the Prolacto community and its supporters include everyone who shows interest in, closeness to, or friendship with our daily work. They are therefore our friends: employees and shareholders, milk producers, cooperatives, public institutions supporting the agro-industrial sector, technical, industrial and maintenance partners, commercial partners, suppliers, clients and neighbors. All are fundamental to our journey. To all of them we dedicate the positive results achieved in 2025, as well as the fulfillment of our continuous improvement objectives and our economic, strategic and—most importantly—sustainability goals.

A new strategic cycle now begins, supported by a renewed management team and new additions that strengthen our skills and capabilities. We sincerely thank all those who have taken on new professional challenges and, after a year of integration and consolidation, we face this new cycle with great motivation, confidence and ambition.

The year 2026 will be particularly significant, marking the 55th anniversary of the first production at our factory. We will celebrate this milestone with the consolidation of the daily use of our data analytics and Industry 4.0 platform across all stages of the process—from raw-material reception and production to energy management and wastewater treatment—fully integrated with our ERP system. We will also move forward with the near-total paperless digitalization of our industrial and administrative processes, from milk collection to product dispatch, as well as the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Tools Optimization Program, some of which are already in operation.

The year 2026 will also mark the start of full operation of our biogas plant, unique in the country in its characteristics and currently in the testing phase. This project, together with the consolidation of Industry 4.0 and the use of artificial intelligence, will represent a new industrial era for both the Autonomous Region and Portugal, establishing Prolacto as a benchmark for innovation, sustainability and the future—a true factory of the 22nd century.
