Compliance with Local Legislation – Farms must comply with all applicable laws related to the 11 criteria of the Dairy Sustainability Framework (DSF). 2. Animal Welfare – The SDP recognizes the Five Freedoms of animal welfare, prohibits tail docking, and requires the use of anesthesia or analgesics for dehorning adult animals. 3. Human Rights – Farms must respect human rights, ensuring fair and safe working conditions for all employees. 4. High Conservation Value (HCV) and Deforestation Protection – Farms must protect areas with high conservation value and avoid deforestation practices in their operations. 11 DSF Criteria: 1. Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Reduce GHG emissions across the dairy value chain. 2. Soil Nutrients: Manage nutrients to minimize environmental impact. 3. Soil Quality and Retention: Enhance soil health and prevent erosion. 4. Water Availability and Quality: Optimize water use and safeguard water quality. 5. Biodiversity: Protect and enhance biodiversity on farms and in supply chains. 6. Animal Care: Ensure the health and well-being of dairy animals. 7.
